she did not know that it was Jesus

Micah 7:14-15, 18-20 Psalm 85:2-8 John 20:1-2, 11-18

John 20:14  Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

How often do we worry or live in despair and we are so close to a solution to our problem that we don't even see it?

Jesus is so close to us that sometimes we don't even know he is there.  I think of the popular picture of footprints on the beach and the questioning of where is God in times of trouble, there is only one set of foot prints.  Then it is revealed that the one set of prints is God's and not ours.  He is so close we don't even know he is there.

We need to trust that he is there and live as though we are being carried through the troubles of life.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to always trust that you are right by me, especially in tough times when it is easy to think that I am alone.
