one pearl of great value

Matthew 13:46  who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

A pearl of great price.  What is the value of the Kingdom of Heaven?  What are we willing to trade for it?

Life basically comes down to a value system.  We choose what we love.  We trade that which we do not love as much.  Relatively we hate.  The question is how much do we value the Kingdom of Heaven.  A pearl of great value would put a person on easy street.  They would have it made.  Why wouldn't someone value that more than all his possessions?

Yet, we hang on the things that are of less value and trade the Kingdom of Heaven.  We choose what we love.  The question is what is of value to each of us?

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to value the Kingdom of Heaven more than the traps of this world.  Help me to know the difference between grace and opportunity and greed and carnality.
