John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
Martha was thinking like many of us think. Yes, we believe in some kind of spiritual resurrection after we die way off into the future. It is easy to believe in stuff like that because it makes no demand on us in the present. But to believe that someone could actually rise from the dead right in front of our eyes? That is too much to believe. But that is what Jesus wants and expects us to believe. He is the resurrection and the life. anything that can happen or that can exist and even things that are beyond what we can even know are possible through Jesus. It is not that there is a resurrection, like it is some kind of impersonal force. Jesus is the resurrection and he can be for us what ever we need him to be right here right now, if we believe, and he is in fact even when our faith comes up short.
Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to believe that in you all things are possible and I can expect miracles to happen.
Amen
