shake off the dust

First Reading: Psalm: Gospel:

Wisdom 8:9-16 or 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 Psalm 67:2-5, 7-8 Luke 9:1-6

Luke 9:5  And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them."

In this post-modern world people are most concerned about everybody submitting and adhering to what they want.  It obviously is a situation that can only survive if everybody wants the same thing.

This is a clear sign that a person is not truly representing Christ.  If they are unable to turn it over to God and allow a person to stand in denial of Christ.  That is tough for us to do, but we must learn to do it.  The enemy can't do that because his only power is in fear and slavery.  Freedom is not part of the enemies plan.  We must not seek to force people to believe what we do, but rather be powerful witnesses by having the courage and faith to let them go.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to trust you to change the world.  Help me to honor each persons choice and to remain faithful myself.
