the evil from the righteous

First Reading: Psalm: Gospel:

Jeremiah 18:1-6 Psalm 146:1-6 Matthew 13:47-53

Matthew 13:49  So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous

The good will need to be separated from the righteous at the end of the age.  That means that in the mean time we are all mixed in together.  That means that the people sitting side by side in church could find themselves separated at the end.  That means that our presence or affiliation with a given church is not what saves us.  It is our righteousness.  Or the righteousness of Jesus Christ that we live in.  We must take his righteousness and make it ours.  we must be Holy as hi is Holy.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to not take for granted the promises that you have made for me.  Help me to seek and to live a life of righteousness, not to rely on what I call myself but to rely on your grace and mercy and to live accordingly.
