He will not wrangle or cry aloud

First Reading: Psalm: Gospel:

Micah 2:1-5 Psalm 10:1-4, 7-8, 14 Matthew 12:14-21

Matthew 12:19  He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will any one hear his voice in the streets;

What a contrast to some of those who we hear today claiming to be the voice of God. They yell in the streets and they take every opportunity to be heard and seen. Quite different than our Lord who hid himself from the crowd so that they wouldn't "make" him king or get the wrong idea from what he is saying.  He was humble and let his words and deeds and the Holy Spirit do his work.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to trust in you and not always seek to be heard but to humbly serve you and allow you to make know what you want to be known.
