Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.
I think of the word "blessed" as meaning "fortunate". There is a tendency I think to assign it some kind of ordination like quality. Somehow if one is blessed they are better than the others. I think that it means they are more fortunate than the others because God has chosen to reveal his grace to them in a special way.
We must be thankful then for the blessing we are given. Not that we are better than others, but because God has chosen to bless us.
Father, thank you for the many blessings that you show me and my family. I feel that we are truly blessed. I pray that I may find it within me to be thankful at all times and to share my grace with others.
