RESPECT

First Reading: Psalm: Gospel:

Zephaniah 3:14-18 or Romans 12:9-16 (Ps) Isaiah 12:2-6 Luke 1:39-56

Luke 1:42  and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

Elizabeth shows that Mary deserves respect.  Yes the question of what influence she really has remains, but we certainly should honor her as the mother of the King. Sometimes you just have to respect people for who they are. That is something that we are losing in today's culture.  Respect.  I think we should practice more of it instead of trying to find excuses not to.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to always give respect to the saints, those who you have chosen and I should look up to.  I don't know what influence they might have but they can certainly influence my life as role models.
