Matthew 10:24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master;
It seems that as time goes on with the increase of knowledge, wealth and means, we as a society are losing the respect for those who teach or who are in positions of authority, or have experience. We have become a people who think we can do anything we want to whenever we want to. We have indulged ourselves with the pleasures of the flesh and forgotten God's design and devalued the wisdom of life.
We may think we are smart, or good, or powerful, but death still is the great equalizer. Nobody yet, nor will they ever figure out how to live forever. This is the curse, that we all die. And it is Christ alone who has been victorious over death. We must come to know our place if we are to know Christ. If we think we don't need him, the joke will be on us in the end.
Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to always know my place. Help me to know that you are the master and I am the servant, that you are the teacher and I am the disciple. Help to to know you better.
Amen
