You gotta believe

Mass Readings: April 12

First:	Acts 9:31-42
Resp:	Psalm 116:12-17
Gospel:	John 6:60-69

John 6:63 It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

This is a hard saying they said, who can accept it.  Jesus said it was because there were those who didn't believe and who would betray him that no one can come to the him unless the Father grants it.  It is an act of faith.  We will not find answers unless we ask, and we will not ask if we don't believe.

To enter into God's eternal kingdom we must believe and that is a gift of the Father.  No physical strength, no amount of wealth, know scientific knowledge can get one into heaven.  It is a matter of faith and grace.

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to truly believe and always seek you in faith rather than through the devices of this world.
