God is God

Mass Readings: April 3

First:	Acts 5:27-33
Resp:	Psalm 34:2,9,17-20
Gospel:	John 3:31-36

John 3:31 The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven (is above all).

Sometimes I am amazed how foolish we can be.  If we truly believe that Jesus is God's son, that is God in human flesh, then that should make a huge difference in how we act.  Yet we continue to sink back into human ways and values.

God is God, and Jesus is God.  He created everything and is in control of everything. Why would we try to silence the Holy Spirit in favor of human rules and tradition?

Father, help me by your Holy Spirit to truly believe that you are God and Jesus is your Son.  Help me to change my life to be consistent with that belief.
