2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: If any one will not work, let him not eat.
We are called to share the blessings that God gives us with our brothers. We are called to seek justice and with humility we mist show mercy on others, but, if they are not willing to work and to provide for their families, they are not obeying the command of Paul. We are called to work and by the sweat and labor of our hands we are to be blessed.
In today's political arena it is important to realize that working is part of God's plan. This should be an important part of any polity. We must encourage and enable people to work and through their work they are able to honor God and be blessed by God.
Father, help me to remember to help my brothers when I can, and provide for me the opportunity to work to honor you and to be blessed by you.
Amen
